Let’s learn something new!
Tip 1: Image Background Remover
Background removal is the most important part if you are selling certain products as your business. When capturing a perfect shot, the background can distract your images.
But this Canva pro makes the one tricky process to remove background in one minute. It’s a super simple Canva tip that I always use for my daily simple design works.
Step 1: Choose any image from the Canva media library or upload your own image.
Step 2: Click on the “Background Remover” in the effects section.
Once you click on it, the background will disappear like magic. No need to struggle with photoshop or illustrator. This is very simple and you can do it yourself.
It’s amazing, right?
Tip 2: Group Different Elements Together
How do you move the elements together without disturbing the arrangement of the overall design? It is something harder than you think.
This is where knowing about the grouping feature can be helpful. It allows you to arrange multiple objects by properly moving the individual parts around.
Step 1: Hold down the Shift key and select the elements you want to group one by one.
Step 2: Click the group button at the top of the right side.
- Grouping: Select elements + Ctrl + G
- Ungrouping: Ctrl + Shift + D
Tip 3: Lock Elements in the Position
Locking is a new feature of Canva that lets you select one or more elements and freeze them in your design.
While you work with lots of elements, it’s very hard to select them individually. But Canva has the simple tip of locking the element that you don’t want to move.
Step 1: Select the elements that you won’t move.
Step 2: Click on the lock icon at the top of the right side of the Canva dashboard.
You can now lock the elements of any Canva design in place until they are unlocked. With the new “Lock” feature on Canva, enjoy absolute control over your design.
Tip 4: Quickly Filter Elements Search Result
This option is very useful to work with the design process. As an existing Canva Pro subscriber, you’ve already got full access to Canva’s assets. So maybe you think you don’t need this. But why would you use the free asset to your designs?
Here’s the easiest way to filter the elements you’re looking for by color, animation (Static and Animated), and availability ( Pro and Free) of the Canva.
Tip 5: Add QR Code to Your Design
This is a very useful feature when you are designing business cards, marketing, and advertising to promote your website or your brand.
Step 1: Go to the “More option” in Canva’s left sidebar.
Step 2: Select the QR Code generator under the “Apps and Integrations” section.
Step 3: Enter the URL that you want to generate a QR code.
Step 4: Simply click on the “Generated Code”.
Your link will quickly convert to the QR code and anyone can scan and go through it.
Tip 6: Add Clickable Links on PDF Files
Did you know that you can add a link to any text, images, videos, and elements? Canva makes everything easier. Just go through these simple steps.
Step 1: Choose the text you wish to add a clickable link.
Step 2: Click on the Hyperlink icon at the top of the right on the edit bar.
Step 3: Type or paste the URL of the website and apply.
You’re done! Now you can export the design in PDF format and the link will work.
But, this Hyperlink will only work in the PDF file format and doesn’t work in the JPG, PNG, or other file formats.
Tip 7: Use Smart Mockups to Your Products
If you work on a product that sells things such as books, apparel, clothes, or anything similar, Smart Mockups can really help to brighten your work.
Follow the steps to make your designs better, faster, stronger.
Step 1: Design your image and click on the three dots at the right corner.
Step 2: You can see the mockup button under the share tab.
Step 3: Connect your SmartMockup account with your email address and register.
Now you can see your design in books, T-shirts, mugs, and other printed products in real life. Simply click the download button and get your design in one minute.
Tip 8: View Similar Design Elements
If you love some element and find something similar, here is a simple tip where you can easily find similar elements from Canva.
Step 1: Click on the information button at the above taskbar.
Step 2: Go to the “See more like this” button or by clicking on “See More by Designer” you can view the designs of a specific designer.
This is a really cool Canva tip to save your time more efficiently.
Tip 9: Display Rulers and Guide Lines
If you want to align your design perfectly, one of the best little Canva tips is to make designs that look better. Rulers and guidelines are helped to line up and set your custom margins.
When you enable the rulers, you can use the guidelines automatically.
Step 1: Click on the “File” button at the above taskbar.
Step 2: Tick to the “Show rulers” and “Show guides”.
Now the rulers can be seen on your design board. If you need a guideline, you can click on the ruler and drag it to your design and then you can see the guideline as you drag and drop.
Tip 10: Curved Text and Effects
Canva has different effects. Not just for images but you can add effects to the texts. Once you type anything in your design, you can apply various effects on your text such as shadows, hollows, echo, curves, neon, and glitch, etc.
You can edit the effects of direction, color, offset, blur, and transparency effect under all styles.
Under the shapes, you can curve your text which is perfect for logo designs.
Tip 11: Leave Comments While Collaborating
If you have a team of designers at Canva, there is a good way to collaborate with them on your designs. You can comment on the design by clicking on the bubble icon while you work. You can also tag your teammates to the comment.
Working with your team of designers this feature is fun and easy.

Tip 12: Canva Magic Resize
Canva is a free online design tool. When I use Canva, I no longer worry about the size of my design creations since it offers the new feature of Canva image resize to choose from including square, landscape, portrait, and more custom sizes.
Magic resize means one design can be completely resized for any platform. This is a good time saver.
